KANSAS: CRAWFORD FINDS TROUBLE VYING FOR LEAD
For the first time in 19 years and the 326 races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rick Crawford climbed into a race vehicle that was not owned by Tom Mitchell and campaigned for Circle Bar Racing. Crawford did climb into another Ford owned by start up team Ray Hackett Racing. With sponsorship from SUPERSEAL Construction Products, the #76 Ford F-150 was solid in practice and qualified 15th for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250. With the drop of the green flag Crawford’s experience at Kansas Speedway let him know he had a horse that could run. With a slick pit call from crew chief, Travis Sharpe, the SUPERSEAL F-150 had track position and Crawford was looking for the lead. On lap 34 while racing with eventual race winner Ron Hornaday, Crawford lost the handle on the SUPERSEAL F-150 and hit the wall hard ending his day.
Crawford: “Travis (Sharpe) and the guys did a great job all weekend responding to the feedback we needed to make our truck better. Hornaday had problems in 3 and 4 and I thought the SUPERSEAL F-150 had a shot for the lead, ended up in the fence. I really hate it for those guys they worked really hard and had a nice piece. I appreciate Mr. Hackett letting me drive for him this weekend and I hope I was able to give them some input on their race team.”
