CRAWFORD & SECRETARY SHINSEKI SPEAK AT VA FORUM
Rick Crawford and Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki were part of a White House Fatherhood Forum at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The forum is part of President Obama’s National Conversation on Responsible Fatherhood and explored the challenges affecting military and Veteran dads and their families and how community organizations, faith-based groups, government and families can come together to meet those challenges.
“I hope sharing my experiences as a NASCAR driver, which entails being on the road for more than half the year each season, was of value to those who serve our country at home and overseas,” Crawford said. “Being away from your family for an extended period of time is one of the hardest things for a father to do. My sacrifices can’t be compared to those that are serving in our military but I hope that by sharing my experiences while being on the road and away from home can help them with the challenges they face.”
