Talladega and streaking are two words that can become synonymous when talking about the infield on Saturday night but in the case of David Starr and his International MaxxForce Diesel team they mean something completely different. In Loudon New Hampshire Starr eclipsed Bobby Hamilton as the all time leader in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for most consecutive starts without a DNF (Did Not Finish). With another finish in Las Vegas under his belt, Starr padded that record to 66 races and is looking to extend the streak even further in the Mountain Dew 250 in Talladega. To be mentioned in the same sentence with Bobby Hamilton is an honor. Bobby was such a great competitor and to have my name in the record book ahead of him in anything is special, said Starr. I wish we were talking about consecutive wins but running at the end of every race is really a credit to our International MaxxForce Diesel team and Dennis Connor. These guys never give up and we keep digging to the finish. Just like last week in Las Vegas, we stopped with 10 laps to go to make adjustments and try and get better. The move paid off, we finished better than where we were when we stopped and we might have found something that can help us in the future.
The International MaxxForce Diesel Team will be in action when the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series holds round 20 of the 2007 season in the Mountain Dew 250 at Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday October 6th at 4:00 PM EST.
